Read more about Transactional Analysis
Transactional Analysis: My initial Masters degree was in Relational Transactional Analysis (TA) psychotherapy, a psychological theory of human personalities, behaviour and relationships. TA’s basic philosophy is that all people are of value and have the right to be accepted and treated with respect. Importantly, Transactional Analysis works from the premise that people can change, however deep-rooted their difficulties.
Relational TA combines Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and psychodynamic therapy; it thus can be used to help you manage your problems by understanding and changing your thinking and behaviour, as well as exploring and changing deeper and sometimes unconscious psychological processes to better understand the reasons for your behaviour and feelings in order to resolve any difficulties.
Another essential aspect of TA is contracting, ensuring that we agree together the path you would like your therapy to take. My aim is to understand you and your needs, and work with you in a way that feels safe, supportive and appropriately challenging to help you make the changes that you want to make in your life.
